The colors of Palsaik

When you walk around in Seoul  Korea, there are so many places to eat. With 13 million people waking around there is a lot of mouths to feed, so business is booming. Many restaurants locations are on second and third floors above the restaurants on the first floor. The stairways to go up are often small and steep and plastered with eye catching advertisements to draw you in.

I have to admit I default to the first floor locations most often. I am a little uncomfortable with seeing what is up stairs. I get that feeling in my stomach like the first time you climbed up the ladder of the high dive. Halfway up...should I go back?

Well this time we put on our big boy pants and went upstairs. I sure am glad we did because the food was great, and the view from the window side seats made for some great people watching.

We happened upon a sign that showed eight different versions of pork and we were intrigued. We entered the restaurant and we greeted by the friendly wait staff.
The restaurant was named Palsaik 팔색

Within minutes of sitting down we had a table that was prepared and looked like this. The pork had eight different marinades. It started at one end being lightly marinated and then each consecutive dish was a little stronger in flavor.

The wait staff fired up the grill and got us going quickly. The meal comes with a salad, seafood soup, and lots of veggies to wrap your grilled pork belly in. A side dish of onion slices, garlic, and a spicy miso is provided too.

I love Korean foods and this was one of the best we had yet.

They brought us a huge pot of seafood and soybean paste soup that was cooked at our table.

All said and done the lunch cost $30 dollars and we were happily on our way....

Whats for dinner? Cooper asked....
